Ashdown House is one of the Leading Preparatory schools in Sussex and the South East, founded in 1843 it is also one of the oldest boarding preparatory schools in the UK. The school is a day and boarding school that caters for boys and girls between 3 and 13.
We are proud to be offering your child an exciting, challenging and stimulating education. Our scholarship record over the last 10 years speaks volumes for the quality of teaching and all children successfully pass into the leading public schools of their choice.
As well as having a rigorous education the children are also able to spend time in the grounds climbing trees, building dens and looking after shetland ponies, hens and rabbits to name but a few - we like to think the children have a 'free range' education. As part of The Cothill Educational Trust, we are excited at being able to offer the experience of visits to the Chateau de Sauveterre in France to extend the children's on the french language skills, and to The Old Malthouse in Dorset where the children are able to undertake scientific research and geographical exploration.
Ashdown House School is within 30 minutes of Gatwick and one hour from south-west London and Heathrow. We are also well located for those living in the South East, London and overseas.
