I was educated at Kings College School in London. I remember my school days fondly and feel very lucky to have had such dedicated and committed teachers. I worked hard, I certainly wasn't a natural academic, and made the most of all the extracurricular opportunities. I was a music scholar and loved most sports.
I had a gap year and worked for a local engineering geology company, who then sponsored me through Durham University to study Geology. I returned to them when I graduated but my heart wasn't really in it. So after a year I headed back to university, this time to Cambridge. Two years and one Boat Race later I gained a Master’s in Education.
My first teaching job was at Abingdon School as a Geography teacher where I stayed for 10 years working in a variety of roles including as a Boarding Housemaster. I did have an amazing year overseas on a teacher exchange at Brisbane Boys College in Australia in the middle of my time at Abingdon, I was reluctant to come back!
Prior to joining BCS I was on the management team at Reading Blue Coat School for 9 years, a school I thoroughly enjoyed working at.
Having been away from music for many years I was recently inspired by a pupil at my former school to pick up my trumpet, so I am playing more and more. I also enjoy competing in triathlons, quite slowly!
I am married to Estelle and have two children, one who is at BCS Prep and the other at BCS Senior.
I am honoured to be working with the dedicated and inspirational staff at BCS to provide your son or daughter with a rich and rewarding education.
