爱德华国王学校的历史可追溯到1553年，由国王爱德华六世颁令修建，并在1867年从伦敦迁往现址。学校位于伦敦南部的萨里市的witley，距离伦敦约半小时车程，坐火车到希斯罗机场约一小时。是一所信仰基督教的男女混合学校。每年伦敦市长都会出席该校的校庆，并在夏季学期视察该校。
爱德华国王学校有着精心设计的大面积公共绿地和宽敞的运动场，加上新型的实验室和设计中心，给学生提供了一个极好的学习和生活的环境。学校师资力量强大，对学术要求很高，在英国学校中处于领先的学术地位，所以对入学的学生也有一定的要求和标准。在爱德华国王学校毕业的学生，很多都考入英国顶尖大学，所以广受好评。
学校为不同年龄阶段的学生设置了不同的课程，针对学生能力，满足他们的学习要求。开设的课程除了传统的GCSE 与A-Level外，还有高水准的IB 课程即国际高中课程。所有IB 项目学生必须在规定的六个学科组中每组选一门进行学习，三门为高等级，还有三门须达到标准等级。每门最高分数为7 分，加上拓展论文和知识论文的3分奖励分数，满分为45 分。该课程在世界范围内被广泛认可。

院校概述

King Edward's School is a co-educational boarding and day school providing education for pupils aged from 11 to 18 years. Originally founded in 1553 in the City of London, the school moved to its current location in 1867. The school is a charitable trust, governed by a board of governors known as the Court of Bridewell. It has seven boarding houses, all on the main school site. The school has 109 pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities, none of whom has an education, health and care plan.

Also, 109 pupils speak English as an aditional language.
